Abstract:

The talk is dedicated to show how the light-matter interaction guarantees a unique opportunity to investigate the world of nanoparticles from the control of their synthesis, to the optical detection and characterization by Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) nanosizer and nanocounters, to the final application. Particular attention is dedicated to the description of novel Au@carbynoid (sp-sp2hybridized) nanocomposites and luminescent carbon dots synthesized by Pulsed Laser Ablation in Liquid, and a brief panorama about their outstanding performances in both chemical sensing and bio-related applications.
